Lovely view, looking over the railing at the rushing waters below.
Powerful, moving, yet still. Almost mesmerizing.
Unless, it's not a raging river outside, it's INSIDE.
The raging waters are in YOU.
Then, then the question may be:
Am I Washed Up Here or Washed Away?
Fear rises as the waves rush through, the inevitable power of water claiming it's place
Washed Up
The fear says, holy crap, I'm washed up, game over, lost, down the tubes. Sound familiar?
The negative self-recriminations come as fast as the waves crashing. Over, just over, just "no way", impossible. Disaster. Failure.
Or, Washed Away
Watch it wash. Feel it wash just as shower does. The old is washed away. The dirt disappears. Even the impossible rock blocks are worn down. The channel opens overtime. The feeling is fresh, clean, ready, can do possible.
Same water, same washing, very different perspective.
Step Back
The perspective is a choice. The next time the waves are crashing INSIDE, try, just try to take a moment to watch instead of reacting.
The most beautiful canyons and lakes and beaches came from the gradual cleaning and clearing of the water.
Walk and watch in the change happening upon you.
There will always be time, if needed, to react later.
